Entertainment at a Chihuahua stoplight. All we have in Michigan is Dawn...

We had a great time honoring the staff and those associated with Lily last evening. The dinner was a huge success because of our special guests who came. Team Michigan poured out their hearts as they waited on our friends down here at Lily. There was much laughter, love and then tears of thankfulness as we ended the evening with a foot washing service. I am so humbled to think that the Lord would let me be a part of this. It will be forever etched in my heart. I experienced a small taste of heaven, and I yearn for the day when we can all be together forever.

Last evening Adrian Lopez joined our team...so we are now the Mich/Tex team and we couldn't be happier. He is a joy to us and a great worker. Last night Cody caught the flu bug and is resting nicely today. Jenney and Liz caught the cold/fever thing and so far (please protect us, Jesus) that is all. Seven children were taken to the hospital last night because of being so sick. More children are eating meals now (which is a good sign) but those who do not have the stomach flu are now experiencing the other cold/flu which lasts longer. These sicknesses have gone through most all the children and staff. The Lord knew that they needed our extra help. Last morning, there was no staff member that was well enough to prepare breakfast so our team did it. Now, let me tell you...IT WAS WILD AND FUN! I jumped out of bed about 5 minutes before we headed down to the early devotions. I thought...they won't have lights on...so I'll just leave my PJ's on...no make-up...no glasses...no problemo. WRONG. When we realized we needed to stay and prepare breakfast, I had to have Jed read things for me, open salt shakers, etc. The good thing...we all looked like we had been drug through a key-hole backwards. (Jello...right, Dawn?)

This team has worked like horses. I am hoping to add some pics of the new guest apartments soon. You'll be surprised!

We were able to cheer on the girls soccer team Monday evening. They didn't win, but played a great game. It was tied...and they lost at the very end by 1. We were so proud of our Lily girls. They love to play when they have supporters in the stands! (Don't we all?)

Tonight the team had the service. Pete preached and there was also a skit. This is always a treat for the children and staff. Many seeds have been planted. Our Father takes it from there. Isn't that cool?! After the service, Ike handed out HOT WHEEL cars and Ice Cream bars to all the children. It was a special night, indeed! Thank you, Ike, for loving children.

The rooms we are staying in look like a tornado hit. It is our goal to start digging through the remains tomorrow. The church van doesn't look much better. Guess we have our work cut out for us!

Vito...you have been replaced! Dawn plunges with your forte...but also adds more sound effects. It only splashes back on her a few times. By the way, she also takes pics between pumps! Maybe next year we can have a plunge-off!!! We'll send Micah in 1st and then the contest will begin. :)

Gary and I really count it as a blessing to work with this team. They all have servant hearts. Bonds have been formed that will last a life-time. I am hoping that in heaven...we'll have our own corner!

Thanks so much for posting today. Looks like you all had lots of fun at the dinner and just everywhere in general. Everyone looked so nice all dressed up and such. Dawn looks like she's acting like her average self and I'm glad you get to experience that because as you said she is our entertainment in Michigan. I have been able seen that sort of live street entertainment and it is so much fun to watch, I see it everytime I visit my family in Mexico and I love watching it everytime it never gets old for me. I hope the flu bug goes away very soon and all the children come out of the hospital even sooner. Tell cody the flu will go away soon enough because I know he hardly ever gets sick it was bound to happen to him sooner or later and at least he's in good hands. I am praying for all of you to overcome the flu and have a great rest of the time. Always in my thoughts that's for sure, and in my prayers. Keep safe, Take Care. GOD Bess you all.

Linda, Thank you so much for all you do. The staff are so very special and I'm glad you love on them the way you do. You have a very special way of making people feel loved and appreciated. I don't think that was a record # in the van:)

How did you know I am looking for a good soccer player? No. 19 would be perfect. Please tell Lorena I'm very proud of her and wish she could have played here so I could watch. As far as stop light entertainment, I think Fred would be up for that. Although he was just complaining about his shoulder. Thanks for loving the kids and showing the staff how much we appreciate what they do. Anthing new as far as adoptions go? Still praying!

Oh, Linda thank you for all you do and keeping us informed. Tell Chris thank you for letting us know about the ones that are sick. I'm BELIEVING that God is healing them for their flight home saturday. Many prayers have been lifted to all this afternoon. Just adding to all weeks prayer for strength protection and health. Looks like everyone is having a beautiful time and loving on each other the way God would want it. Linda, send lots of love to my wonderful husband, Dan and love all over my son as mama's do. Send love to all and know prayers continue. Gods love, Tammy Stricker

Thanks for another post!!!!!! I'm missing Lily more than ever right now. I have chipped and faded pink and purple nail polish on, thanks to Ana and Marcela...and I just can't take it off. Today I went back to work for the first full day, and I couldn't help but think about my other "job" that only comes around a couple times a year. I miss those kids! I praise God for you all, that you were able to encourage the beautiful people that take care of our kids every day. Thank you all so much for spending your money and time to prepare a good meal and make them all feel valued. Give Brenda, Nohema, and Maria Elena another hug from us before you go. Praying for better health and safe travels home. Love from Kentucky.

Please pass on my thankfulness that the whole group is there...working hard...and sticking it out, sickness and all. Wish I would've been able to spend less time in bed and more time with them.
