SATURDAY: It's a great day at Lily. The Michiana team brought warm weather to us and arrived safely around 2 in the afternoon. The children are loving all the extra love and attention. We all enjoyed the young boys soccer game and rewarded some hard-working boys who dug a very long trench for the construction to an evening of hamburgers and icecream.
Gary spent most of the day with Samuel in Chihuahua (which is normal) and the rest of us enjoyed kid time! Yeahhhh!
Just figured out that Armondo is gone. I need to ask tomorrow about his story. His brother and sister are still here which makes me real curious...and concerned. Several other children are gone as well...which is always the case. My heart breaks for the ones who leave and rejoices with each new child. Thank you, Jesus, for entrusting them to us!
Mama and Papa are back from their day off and they are dragging. I am hoping that we can help take up the slack so they can rest while we are here. Please help us pray for their health.
I can't believe the team made it until the end of the day without going toes up for a few hours. They looked a bit pastey and acted a little bit more goofey than normal but otherwise they did great! They had a rough trip down...great road conditions but crazy stomach and other conditions. Jim is fine now...and so is everyone else. Thank you, Jesus!
Let me tell you...we went to Sombrero's for the boy's treat. It's our new favorite place to eat. You've never had a burger until you've had a Sombrero Burger. Vito and Micah...COME ON DOWN!!! (But please don't forget the plunger!) =)
TODAY: Happy Valentines Day Jesus Cristo! Our day began with morning devotions together in the main cafeteria. Soon after it was time to load everyone up on the bus. We left on time...only to discover a flat tire as we left the gate. So...we turned around, unloaded the bus and had church in the cafeteria. God was able to use this precious service and several children/teens surrendered their lives to Christ. Isn't God AWESOME?!!! (Pastor John and Lyle...FYI...no music needed.)
God's Spirit is leading and we're amazed at His perfect timing of everything. Leslie now has an 'official' job. She is dispensing vitamins to all the children every day. She needed a job and the vitamins needed to be used...so the Lord definitely orchestrated that. We brought down 52 Bibles and we have older children/teens begging for them. Now the ones who made a decision to follow Christ will also have a Bible they can read and understand. The staff and older teens are so hungry for books to read for spiritual guidance...and now, thanks to many of you and your generous donations, this new library has been established. Tia Lidia gladly volunteered to take on this responsibility as she has been praying for this to happen. I repeat...isn't God AWESOME?!!! God whispers these crazy ideas in our ears and we follow through only to find that people have been fasting and praying for this very thing to happen.
Last night the Americanos slept very soundly...even through 2 alarm clocks this morning. Luckily I heard the first one and got up which gave me firt dibs on the bathroom (it pays to hear the alarm). =)
On the bus ride home last evening from the soccer game, 'Nico' (Neal who is my son-in-law) had some boys on his lap and they were giving him lots of hugs and kisses. He had this common confused look on his face, like many other Americanos who visit, "What's with this?" I told him that these little boys have a papa (him)to love on this very moment...and that is what they were doing. Sounds crazy, but it's true. For a small time frame, they are able to pretend it's their daddy that is holding them and playing with them. Once that was understood, he held them tight and loved on them. 'Jaime' (Jim), 'Pedro' (Pete) and Dawno :) are daddys and a mommy to these kids this week. They will hold these precious children, play with them, kiss away tears and cheer them on for 1 week...and it is so touching to watch. Gary and I feel like we live among angels down here; and it's not just the children. I believe there are angels encamped round about this place who hold and comfort the children while we are gone. Then once Americanos arrive, they are high-fiving eachother when we scoop up a child in our arms and tickle them, or listen to their hurts, or play silly games with them. I know that these children are near to the heart of God and when He sees the joy the Americanos bring to His kids...His eyes well up with tears and He is saying, "AMEN!!!"
More pics and videos to come later this afternoon! Probably won't have time to write...just post pics.

So...things have been kind of crazy down here lately and I COMPLETELY FORGOT to check the blog!!!! Can't believe it. But I'm all caught up now. :) I LOVE the moment you captured of Ramon standing up to watch the soccer game. And I must meet little Beatrice! She's adorable! I'm so thankful that you and the team are there loving on the kids. I know they love to see your familiar faces and be reminded of God's love for them through you guys. I'll be praying that God uses you big time while you're there, even in having those hard conversations with the ones whose adoptions aren't going smoothly. Or with those who aren't being adopted at all but want to be so badly. I'm praying that they'll know that they have a heavenly father who will love them always. A father who knows them deeply- their thoughts before they think them and the number of hairs on their head- and who will fight for them when nobody else will. Oh, I miss them! I would ask you to give hugs to the ones I miss the most, but there are too many to name! Ok, this is long so I'll go. Love you guys!
