Home Again!!!

The mounains of Mexico in the distance!

Repacking before the border crossing. We purchased about 10 duffle bags and repacked EVERYTHING. Mixed out clothes with books, bibles, gifts, etc and still got the red light...searched and paid duty. All of that equaled one stressed out husband! But, thank the Lord, we made it!

Silvia, Lorena and Leslie...riding in our truck this morning! What a great way to start the day!

Honestly...it was a lot of work getting her. The planning, packing, repacking...and border stress...duty, etc. BUT IT WAS WORTH IT! We feel like we're home again! We were smothered with hugs and kisses for the first hour...and it hasn't really stopped. We have run a zillion errands already (don't know how many times Gary has been to Chihuahua and back) but it is OK. We're here and they need help. They are in such a sad situation. Down to 1 vehicle of their own...and short staff. The bus was in the garage getting repairs, the white van in for repairs, their only truck in for repairs and the green car was completely smashed from Ed and Rosa's accident. So...a generous man has loaned them a truck for 3 more days. They have been shuttling kids back and forth to school in a van and a pick-up truck. Talk about crazy. That's not to mention all the milk runs, grocery trips, market runs, Dr. visits etc. Tires me out just to think about it. Ed has had another major surgery on his right eye and is slowly recovering from that. They still have bumps and bruises from their car accident and Mama is in a brace for her wrist. The amazing thing is everyone's attitude. EXTREMELY THANKFUL TO THEIR JESUS FOR WHAT THEY DO HAVE. Not one complaint...just praise to their God for supplying needs. Even though it is cold, no heat, money is tight, vehiles are down...it's definitely a Habakkuk 3:17-19 testimony! That is exactly why I love it down here!

Things are different..like always. Kids have grown up, new kids have arrived and others have gone. The best part is the spiritual depth you see in the kids who have surrendered their lives to God. They have been digging deep and discovering the God of their Mama and Papa. I say a big AMEN!

Today I played several games with the children. Everyone wanted to hold my hand...and I tried to hold as many as I could. When I did, they would melt. That simple touch means the world to these kids. Some children will stroke my hand, others just clasp it tightly. I've had 4 kids on my lap at the same time...all struggling to get some time. Oh Father, please help me to love on the children who hurt the most. Many are already asking for parents...and I choke back the tears. Father, I'm trusting YOU.

i love it, Linda. I'm so glad you're there and SO wish I could be there too! Tio Sid will be there soon, and I'll send some gifts. Praying you y'all... that the Lord would supply their needs, protect them and encourage them when it looks grim. I'll be there in July!
Tell Brenda "happy birthday" for me!
