Never Abandoned

I have had a very difficult time trying to get to Lily Orphanage this time. I flew a different airlines which had me fly to Chicago..Denver...Houston and then Chihuahua. But delayed flights made it impossible. I ran through Chicago airport after a delay from GR. By the time I reached the gate they had closed it. My gasping for air and tears made them open up the door so I could board my flight. (Usually the tears always work!) But, they made me surrender my carry-on and check it in. They guaranteed me that it would follow me to Chihuahua. After a big delay leaving Denver, I was facing the same scenerio in Houston. This time the guy at the gate didn't feel sorry for the old lady gasping for air and flowing tears. The lady at customer service made me realize I was stranded in Houston...with only my purse and computer. She had no idea where my luggage was and wouldn't try to track it. They put me up in a hotel and told me to catch the Ramada Inn shuttle. By then it was dark...and I was alone...and afraid. The tears were welling up and I was feeling abandoned. After a 30 minute wait for the shuttle and drive to the hotel, I then learned that I was at the wrong Ramada Inn shuttle vehicle. They made reservations for me at another Ramada Inn farther away. I was instructed to catch another airport shuttle and then catch another Ramada Inn shuttle from the airport. By then I couldn't quit sobbing. I was exhausted, felt totally helpless and abandoned. The kind man who drove my first shuttle picked me up again and noticed the obvious tears. He was an elderly Hispanic gentleman with such a gentle spirit. He said to me, "My child, I am here. You will be OK. I will drive you to the other Ramada Inn instead." He explained that this could cost him his job, but it was the right thing to do. I shared with him about Lily orphanage and he said, "I love children." I told him I did do. I felt safe with him as we talked about my day. As I got out of the shuttle van I said, "By the way, my name is Linda. What is your name?" He said, "Jesus". I felt God was assuring me that He is with me. No, this man wasn't Jesus Christ, but my God was beside me. I apologize for the delay of this blog. Satan has been fighting in the internet. I have been trying since last Wednesday to get up and running. But, early this morning it finally worked...after much money and frustration. The team has been doing great. They arrived Saturday after a very long trip. The greatest part of their arrival was watching Ramon await Asher's arms. Sunday we had a great time at church with the children. But the best part of the day was spent with Luis Angel who is a former teen from Lily who came to visit Sunday afternoon. God got ahold of his heart and he surrendered his life to Jesus Christ and asked to be admitted into a drug rehab center. We are determined to pray for him during the next few months. Yesterday was a LONG day at the market and the staff appreciation dinner. A lot of work, but worth it. Some of the guys got many of the faucets to work again as well as the faucet in the kitchen sink..it now has hot water!!! I hope you enjoy the pictures of your family. Please continue to pray for the team as they will be putting sealer on roofs (thankful for a cloudy day to do it in) and spending the evening with the teens, building relationships with a hamburger cookout and games.
